Your inner world creates your outer world

Meditation is something I have an extremely hard time achieving...however I am working towards it.  I believe that we can be much more efficient and productive if we learn to master our minds.  If we don't learn how to control our thoughts...our thoughts can create a negative reality.  In our busy lives, it can be tough to slow down and block off time for yourself each day to meditate.  If you knew all the positive implications meditation could have on your life, you might just reserve 5-10 minutes each morning to sit in silence.

Meditation has helped me during stressful times in my life and I thought I would share with you some of the benefits you may experience when you take time each day to silence your mind.  Here are 6 of the benefits meditation will bring to your life:

1. Happiness.  When we live in the heart, we can experience a sense of oneness with others, this brings a happiness that does not depend upon outer events.

2. Inner Peace. Most people would like to experience more inner peace in their lives; at times peace feels like an elusive quality because our lives are so hectic.

3. Health Benefits. There have been numerous studies showing a link between meditation and improved physical health. Meditation is a practical solution to relieve stress. When we relieve stress we help to reduce our blood pressure and heart related diseases.

4. Simplicity. Meditation helps to simplify our lives. When we live in the mind we sometimes feel that life is teeming with problems and worries. Through learning to meditate, we discover the joy in life’s simplicity.

5. Living in the Present. When we analyse the thoughts that go through our mind we find that many of them are dealing with the past or present. We are either fearful of the future or ruminating on the past. Meditation helps us focus on today and right now.  

6. Better Relationships with Other People Meditation teaches us to give no importance to minor thoughts. When we meditate powerfully we develop a sense of oneness with other people; we naturally look to their good qualities.

Even 5 minutes every morning before you start your day will make a huge difference!
