I started my weight loss journey in May 2012 unknowing of how much it would change my life. I had been very overweight since the birth of my son and had lost all confidence in myself and in the hope for a change. I ate and drank whatever I wanted, had dangerously large meals and binged on late night snacks. I was tired all the time, sluggish and very depressed.
When I started the first bootcamp with trainer Shannon Delves, I honestly didn't think I could do it; start a meal plan and follow through with it, let alone finish a whole workout! I was very unsure whether I would even be able to lose any weight; however, when I finally had my first class it was empowering, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of me and in the weeks to follow everything got easier. It wasn't as hard as I had once thought, I had always enjoyed eating healthy and the meal plan gave me a clear guideline to go by. I slowly felt myself getting stronger and I was able to do things I once couldn't. In the months to follow I kept at it and had managed to lose about fifty pounds. I then spent many more months plateauing at the same size and weight without much change. I started to feel discouraged and lacked the old motivation and dedication to the diet that I once had so I decided to join the Total Body Transformation Bootcamp.
Shannon’s boot camp has given me the last push that I needed to boost my confidence enough to push myself back into eating right and trying to exceed my goals. Being a part of a large group of people who all want to ultimately reach the same goal makes it easier for me to stay on track and stay focused on my goal. The competition aspect of this particular bootcamp has awakened a very competitive part of myself that I didn't know existed and this has definitely pushed me to work as hard as I can to never give up. To be honest, the achievement of a better body and a healthier lifestyle is definitely a prize to be won in itself and that alone has kept me going!
Trainers Cassius and Shannon both bring very different training styles to the group and their workouts are always a perfect combination of cardio, weight training and full body conditioning. Both offer fun and very rigorous training styles, with the ability to make a strenuous workout fun and although they are challenging, they are also enjoyable enough that you cannot wait for the next class.
I am thoroughly impressed with the significant changes I have seen in the last eight weeks. This bootcamp has helped me to get a few steps away from my final goal and I thank both Shannon and Cassius for giving me that last push of encouragement that I needed to know that I could succeed. I feel empowered again by my health, I am stronger in my body and mind, I have lost to 24 pounds in this last eight weeks alone and I have no doubts with a bit more hard work and diligence I can reach my final goal.
